Frequently asked questions F.A.Q's

Q. Why should I use a concrete post instead of wooden?

A. It will not rot it would stand up to the strain of the weather better and you dont need to treat it with a preservative.

Q. What ratio should I use for fence to trellis when putting trellis on top of a fence panel?

A. For every 2' (610mm) of fence to 1' (305mm) Trellis is what we recommend e.g. 4' Fence Panel with a 2' Trellis on top.

Q. What mix shall I use for concreting fence posts?

A. You can either buy a ready mix concrete such as Postfix which comes in 20Kg Bags and is quick setting. Alternatively the traditional way mixing 5 parts ballast with 1 part cent.

Q. How much sand and cement do i need per post?

A. Well that depends on the size of your hole. Postfix readymix concrete 20Kg bags will fill a hole of 12'' x 12''x 12''. We usually recommend using 40Kg of Concrete per post to ensure it remains stable.

Q. My wooden post has snapped? Can I fix it?

A. Yes what you need to do is use a concrete Support Post (Spur, Godfather). Did a hole in front of the snapped post then concrete it in, which you can bolt or Coach Screw to the damaged wooden post to make it stable again.

A. No all of our fence panels come supplied with panel caps.
