Corfe Installation:
Corfe gates have adjustable hinges for levelling on installation. All Corfe gates have the closing bolt on the right hand side when viewing from the road.
Fittings
- All gates, fence and railings are supplied with a pack of screw-on/bolt-on fittings to fix to existing timber or brickwork.
Opening Directions
- Gate Latching: All single, low bow, bow top gates are supplied with a universal latch for left/right hand opening. All doubles have the latch on the right hand leaf when viewed from the road. All Corfe and Balmoral gates have the padlockable bolt on the right hand side when viewed from the road.
- Gate Hanging: All single, tall single and bow tops have fixed hinges. All Stirling/Edinburgh doubles, tall doubles and all Corfe/Balmoral gates have adjustable hinges to help with levelling during installation.
Square Steel Posts
- Due to the weight of the gates, care must be taken to ensure that the brickwork is strong enough to support them; steel posts which are concreted into the ground are recommended on all large gates. Should you wish to hang gates on steel posts, please be sure to allow for the post widths eg. a 2438mm (8') opening pair of gates and two 70mm (3") posts will fill a 2578mm (8' 6") gap.
Finishing
- All gates and railings are primed in black and after fitting a further coat of good quality gloss paint is required. The gold effect on the rail heads is not a factory option.
